Swami Maheshananda, who was at The Bihar School of Yoga for 12 years and is now a “wandering yogi”, is hosting a yoga and ayurveda retreat from February 15 to March 1, 2014, in Bangalore at the Institute of Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine (IAIM). Swami Mahesh has led retreats in locations from the Himalayas to Machu Pichu.

This retreat will feature a fusion of various yoga disciplines. It will integrate practices from the ancient and modern tantric/ yogic traditions with ayurveda. The aim is to have a holistic approach to life in its totality for a better quality of life and longevity.

Yoga Retreat dates: February 15 to 22, 2014
  • Hatha, Raja, Bhakti, Jnana, Kriya and Kundalini yoga classes.
  • Traditional, ancient yoga practices from the Hatha traditions and Kashmir Tantra.
  • Pranayama, Yoga Nidra, Prana Vidya, Hamsa Dhyana, meditation, and yogic cleansing and detox.
  • No yoga experience necessary. All levels are welcome and accommodated.
Ayurveda Retreat dates: February 23 to March 1, 2014
The seven-day yoga retreat will be followed by a seven-day Ayurveda Rejuvenation Retreat at the facilities of the IAIM. It is suggested that this part of the retreat be tailored to a personal diagnosis by the expert physicians and doctors at IAIM–they will be in a better position to recommend the appropriate ayurvedic treatment with specific oils and herbs. There is the option of getting the Master Health Check done at a subsidized rate, according to the information on Swami Mahesh’s blog.
This unique combination of Yoga and Ayurveda provides a holistic view of life and total health care. For more information as well as registration and detailed costs, readers can contact Swami Maheshananda and visit his blog at
